WHO:
Adults 18+
Open to the public (no registration required)
Due to the mature themes that sometimes arise, Head of the Table events are adult only
COST:
$10-20 sliding scale donation
All proceeds (after expenses) are donated to a charity of the guest's choice
ABOUT:
The Head of the Table series is a monthly gathering in which we, as a community, honor and benefit from the life experience and perspectives of those who have been on this planet a good long while (aka the "elders"). Each gathering features a specially invited elder who is placed at the metaphorical “head of the table” for the evening. Through poetry, story-telling, and dialogue, we remember our mortality, revivify our courage, and fortify ourselves for the long walk ahead.
Head of the Table events typically run from 6pm - 8:30pm. Depending on the host and location, a potluck dinner is sometimes held before the event. Each event opens with gratitude and an introduction to the guest elder by whoever invited them and knows them best.
SPECIAL GUEST:
Joining us for this Head of the Table event will be Lila Tresemer.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Arrive by 5:50pm to give yourself time to settle in. We will begin promptly at 6:00pm
Bring your own back-jack or cushion to sit on, if possible
If you would like tea, please bring your own mug to reduce cleanup for the host
Bring $10-20 cash. All proceeds (after expenses) are donated to an org of the guest's choosing.
